In 2019, Melbourne’s skyline shone brighter than ever as iconic landmarks lit up in green and purple for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal. The colours, symbolic of hope and support, illuminated the city in a way that carried far beyond the skyline, it carried into the hearts of patients, families, and supporters across Victoria.
This year’s event was a remarkable success, raising over $18 million for the hospital. Every dollar helps provide life-changing care, research, and support for children and their families, and it was inspiring to see the community come together once again for such a meaningful cause.
For me, being part of the event went beyond just capturing the aerial footage and photographs. It was truly satisfying to donate my services to record and promote the Appeal. From photographing Melbourne’s most recognisable buildings bathed in colour, to sharing visuals that helped amplify the story, I’m extremely proud to contribute in a way that connected the community to the cause.
The Good Friday Appeal is proof that when a city comes together, amazing things can happen. I’m honoured to have played a small role in shining a light on the extraordinary work of the Royal Children’s Hospital and the generosity of supporters worldwide.
